Defiant of the opposition
Tuesday October 25th, 1 Thessalonians 2: 1 So, friends, it's obvious that our visit to you was no waste of time. 2We had just been given rough treatment in Philippi, as you know, but that didn't slow us down. We were sure of ourselves in God, and went right ahead and said our piece, presenting God's Message to you, defiant of the opposition. Social justice issues are not popular right now. Somehow the religious message has gotten framed as; anti-abortion, anti-homosexual, anti-UN, anti-environment instead of loving God and loving others. The world needs now more than ever the Lutheran perspective that we are loved by a loving God and saved by the gracious gift of Jesus. It is not a message about what others are doing wrong, it is a message about what we should do that is right, and what is right is to love God with all our heart, soul and mind and to love our neighbor as ourselves.

Well thank you bay area lawyers for that insiteful commentary on Pauls letter. I just have no idea what you said. Proof that loving others is not always easy, but in the long run, it is rewarding and what we are called to do.
