Cyrus, you don't even know me, but!!!!

Sunday October 16, Isaiah 45: 4Cyrus, you don't even know me! But I have called you by name and highly honored you because of Israel, my chosen servant. Cyrus was the leader of the Assyrian army. He was not a follower of God (YHWH). God used Cyrus to take over Babylon and free the Israelites (who did follow the God YHWH). There were other captives from other nations also in Babylon. Cyrus freed them also and told them as well as the Israelites to go home and build temples to their gods and to tell their gods what a good guy Cyrus was. When Jesus came on the scene, he also chose many who were not of religious elite to do the work of God. What they all had in common was a heart to do the work of God. Maybe God is less interested in our ideologies and loyalties than in our passion and desire to do what we think God is calling us to do. Cyrus became a religious hero of a religion he knew nothing about. Imagine what God can do through you if you just give God half a chance.
