Nice Threads

Saturday October 15th, Matthew 22: 11When the king went in to meet the guests, he found that one of them wasn't wearing the right kind of clothes for the wedding. 12The king asked, "Friend, why didn't you wear proper clothes for the wedding?" So what was this person wearing? In those days, when someone was invited to such a banquet, they were given clean party cloths to wear. Maybe this person was just thumbing their nose at God and saying, “no thanks, no grace for me, I am going to do it my way” (remember the tree in the garden in Genesis?). The next time you hear a modern Pharisee telling you everything you must “do” to enter the kingdom, remember, they are just trying to make their own cloths for the party. God’s gifts aren’t good enough.
