Warning! Danger Will, Danger!

Sunday September 4th, Ezekiel 33: 7 "Now, son of man, I am making you a watchman for the people of Israel. Therefore, listen to what I say and warn them for me. The religious community is good about warning others, it’s just not so good about warning them about what God says. If you listen to the warnings, you would think that what God is most concerned about is sexuality and abortion. Try something. Take one of the Gospels, go through it and write down everything Jesus praises and everything Jesus criticizes. Then go through and distill them down into a “top ten” list of praises and a “top ten” list of criticisms. You might be surprised to learn that human sexuality and abortion are not on the list. Faith, Justice (economic and social) and compassion are on the praise list. Lack of faith, self-righteousness, injustice (economic and social) and lack of compassion on the criticize list. The church needs warn the people, just about the right things.
