just say "No"

Tuesday December 7th, Romans 15: 4 Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled. 5 May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus. As we wait for the coming of the Christ Child, we are called to live in complete harmony with each other and we are also called to live in patience. Sometimes we live in a bit too much patience for the injustice that permeates this world. Perhaps if we were a bit more impatient with those who would disturb the harmony of God’s peace and justice in this world we would be better off. Perhaps if we were to say “NO” loudly and firmly to the plans to disrupt that harmony in the world, perhaps if we were to stand up for God’s plan for peace and justice in this world, perhaps if……, we could all, all of God’s children, all of God’s creation, live in harmony. And perhaps if the powers that would have us do otherwise would not only be in the minority, as they are now, but their voices would also be in the minority and not be countries and media empires, commanding armies and commandeering budgets we could live in peace. Perhaps a bit less patience and a bit more acting as the children of God is in order in order to bring about the Kingdom of God, the Kingdom of Peace and Justice in this world.
