Who are all these people?
Sunday November 6th, Revelation 7: " 9After this I saw many people. No one could tell how many there were. They were from every nation and from every family and from every kind of people and from every language. They were standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white clothes and they held branches in their hands. 10And they were crying out with a loud voice, "We are saved from the punishment of sin by our God Who sits on the throne and by the Lamb!" While Jesus was on the earth, he was always reaching out and drawing new people into the kingdom. That landed him in a great deal of hot water. By and large, we don’t want new people. We all tend to like the arrangement of us and them. When you start inviting the “them” in then the next thing you know the “us” have to face change. Other languages are spoken on our street corners. Other foods are cooked and served in our restaurants, other music, thoughts, ideas and problems begin to invade our sensibilities. In order to include these “others” we have to change even though it is our country. I think that was God’s plan all along.
