recognize the relationship

Monday, May 5^th, 1 Peter 1: ¹⁷ Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear. ¹⁸ For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, ¹⁹ but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.  Most of us have a hard time understanding things in a sacrificial way, but to the people of the 1^st century, that is how they understood God.  The perfect lamb, the blood, signs of the Passover feast celebrating the gift of life.  Reminders of the scapegoat, who would remove the sins of a community.  Reminders of a sacrificial lamb who would unite your life with the will of God.  Christ death and resurrection helps us see and recognize the relationship we all have with God.  It is the gift of seeing what is already there.
