Tuesday
November 19th, 2 Thessalonians 3: 7 For you yourselves know how
you ought to follow our example. We were not idle when we were with you, 8 nor did we eat anyone's food without
paying for it. On the contrary, we worked night and day, laboring and toiling
so that we would not be a burden to any of you. 9 We did this, not because we do not have the right to such help,
but in order to make ourselves a model for you to follow. 10 For even when we were with you, we
gave you this rule: "If a man will not work, he shall not eat." Twelve of the members of
congress who voted to cut food stamps from the farm bill have collected billions
of dollars form farm subsidies from that same bill. There are in this world, the givers and the
takers. The givers have differing
abilities to give, but are driven by the realization that God loves them as a
gift and they are called to be a gift to others. The takers, sometime have amassed a large
fortune and sometimes are simply obsessed by the idea that they might someday,
but either way, they are not in control of their lives. It is the thought of what more they could get
that is their drug of choice. They are
addicts and in the end will simply die with want surging through their veins.
