This is known to some Scandinavian Lutherans and the “lutefisk” text, the piece of cod that transcends all understanding. But rather than an old piece of fish, it is the love and grace of God that is beyond understanding. It does not fit with our view of the way the world should run. Conventional wisdom tells us to beat the other guy and come out on top. Conventional wisdom tells us to take care of old number one. God’s wisdom tells us to sit down and share a little fish with someone and know you are blessed.
