say yes
Tuesday December 23rd, Luke 1: 29 Mary was greatly troubled
at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. The understanding of the day was that
when and if an Angel visits you, you just know the rest of your life is going
to be a bit different, out of your control, or most likely, very, very short.
All your plans are out the window and you are now either on a mission or
shopping for a gravesite. I suppose you could say no, but Jonah among others
would advise you against it. What lies before you is nothing less than an
adventure. My son has a tattoo of Calvin and Hobbes going on an adventure on
his back. Like Bilbo Baggins in the
Hobbit, what lays beyond that horizon can only be guessed at, and even then you
will be wrong for the most part. All you know is that it will be an adventure
and you will most likely not be alone during this, or any adventure that
involves a calling from God. For some it
may be exciting, for others scary, and yet, somehow the thought of staying home
and watching reruns on the tube just does not sound all that appealing anymore.
So get out there and have an adventure with God, say yes to the call, or at
least a strong maybe. You will not be
alone, no matter what evolves, God will be with you.
