Poem for Christ the King Luke 23:35-43

Even on the cross

with the whole world of power

mocking

laughing

in the folly of our pride

humanity

the creation of God

put up the sign

            King of the Jews

            King of us all

and in the midst of the mocking

and pain

Christ looked on the one

            who turned to him

and pronounced t he blessing

Today

            You will be with me in paradise

And in that moment

            gave hope

                        life

to us all
