seeds and light

Monday October 14th, 2 Kings 5:  13 Naaman's servants went to him and said, "My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more, then, when he tells you, 'Wash and be cleansed'!" 14 So he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, as the man of God had told him, and his flesh was restored and became clean like that of a young boy. Naaman was a great king and was not about to do some silly common thing like washing in a river, and a foreign river at that, to be cleansed.  How often do our preconceived ideas get in the way of the greater good of God’s grace in our lives, and in the lives of others.  Naaman’s servants knew the ways of grace.  Slaves operated and survived in the realm of grace give to them by others.  Their masters had power over them to do anything they wanted.  Sometimes accepting grace requires humility, that’s a little tough for someone who thinks they are in charge. It is a good lesson to remember that it is not always about us. Sometimes it is the ego that most overshadows the light from above.  When has your concept of self-power kept you from action?  When was the last time you showed your deepest humanity and cried in front of others? Remember it is not about you, it is about the kingdom and when you but simply speak or act, seeds grow
