security and fences

Thursday July 25^th, Colossians 1:  26-29 This mystery has been kept in the dark for a long time, but now it's out in the open. God wanted everyone, not just Jews, to know this rich and glorious secret inside and out, regardless of their background, regardless of their religious standing. The mystery in a nutshell is just this: Christ is in you, so therefore you can look forward to sharing in God's glory. It's that simple. That is the substance of our Message.  Some have said that the gift of Jesus was to make us all honorary Jews, Children of the Promise.  Contrary to what many faiths may teach, Jesus did not make anyone the bouncer of heaven.  What Jesus did was to let the world know there was no bouncer in heaven.  No bouncer, no cover charge, no closed sign, no limits, just a call to love and to spend your life finding out each day what that means.  In the book of Revelation there are twelve gates to the Holy City and they will all be open to all the nations.  When we build walls, pass papers please laws, etc.. we are only building a wall around ourselves in an attempt to keep God out.  The thirty foot high cement and concertina wire “security fence” in the Holy Land and the wall on our southern border are an affront to, are a sin against, the essence of who God is.  Forget all the political rhetoric and cover, instead of building a fence just flip God the bird and get it over with.
