bring life back

Monday June 10^th, 1 Kings 17:  ²⁰ He cried out to the Lord, “O Lord my God, have you brought calamity even upon the widow with whom I am staying, by killing her son?” ²¹ Then he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried out to the Lord, “O Lord my God, let this child’s life come into him again.” ²² The Lord listened to the voice of Elijah; the life of the child came into him again, and he revived. ²³ Elijah took the child, brought him down from the upper chamber into the house, and gave him to his mother; then Elijah said, “See, your son is alive.” How quickly we are to lay the blame for things at the feet of God, almost as quick as we are to claim the positive in life as our doing.  But in our world god is not the great puppeteer who pulls the strings to make life happen.  God is instead the directory that gives us our cues as to how to play our part in life in such a way that brings out the God flavors in the world.  Open your heart to God and let the spirit work within you.  You might not bring children back to life, but you might just bring life back into the lives around you as well as your own.
