all wars are civil wars
Monday November 5th, Isaiah 25: 8 The Sovereign LORD will
wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove the disgrace of his people
from all the earth. The LORD has spoken. The tears will be wiped from all faces, not
just our faces, not just the faces of those who agree with us, not just from
the faces of those who look like us, not just from the faces of those who
worship like us, but all faces. What
does that say for our culture that wants to paint “others” as evil, or is so
willing to go to war and kill to get what they want? The so called evil ones, and the war dead,
theirs and ours, are our brothers and sisters in Christ. Those without health care are your brothers
and sisters. Those whose jobs have been
sent overseas are your brothers and sisters.
We are called to be part of the process of wiping away their tears,
anything less is causing them. It
starts with recognizing that we are called to love one another and that all
wars are civil wars because all men are brothers.
