Poem for 3rd Sunday of Easter, Luke 24

Among the living

stands one

who was

--and is

The Christ who came

to bring life

--only to taste death

Lives

Among our doubts

------and fears

--and hopes

that what we have heard is true

Christ Lives

amid the power structures

--that do not at all find

-----------surprises

----------------all that appealing

Christ lives

That we may know that

which has been said

--from the beginning,

God looked and said

--it is good.

Christ lives!
