WWJD???

Sunday, August 7th, Luke 1: The Lord has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble. The Lord has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty. Jesus for us is God come down to earth. In the prediction of what this would mean for the world, these are the words of Mary, his mother. They contain words of comfort; they also contain words of warning. Mary’s expectation was that this child of God would comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable. This message is counter cultural to the prevailing understanding of Christianity, but it is consistent with Jesus teachings. WWJD, (What Would Jesus Do)? Well here you have it, this is what Jesus would do and did. The church has just done a good job of covering it up for 2000 years. Maybe we need to get back on track and stay the course.
