Go and Do

Wednesday January 16th, Acts 10: 36 You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, telling the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all. 37 You know what has happened throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John preached— 38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him. And now God is with you. Go therefore into the world, not even the distant world, but the one in which you live and love and work and bring the good news of Christ through word and deed. In fact, without the deeds, the words are often not heard. Desmond Tutu once said that if an elephant has his foot on the tail of a mouse and you say you are neutral in that situation, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality. To that I would add, that even if you say you are against elephants stepping on mouse tails and walk away, the mouse still will not be appreciative. It is only when you free the mouse that it will hear your words and believe them. Go be a child of God and do the Gospel as well as speaking it.
