walls
Tuesday May 31st, 1 Kings 8: when a foreigner comes and prays toward this house, 43 then hear in heaven your dwelling place, and do according to all that the foreigner calls to you, so that all the peoples of the earth may know your name and fear you, as do your people Israel, and so that they may know that your name has been invoked on this house that I have built. How we welcome the stranger is a direct reflection on how we view God and welcome God into our lives. I dare say one cannot talk of walls to keep others out and at the same time say they are a child of God. It matters not whether these are actual walls as in Israel where the birth place of Jesus is now a prison with thirty foot walls, wire and guard towers, or proposed walls to keep Mexicans out of the US or legal walls to try to keep Syrian refugees out of the country. Walls and God do not mix.
