cured
Friday
April 4th, John 9: 24 A second time they summoned the man who had been blind. "Give
glory to God," they said. "We know this man is a sinner." 25 He replied, "Whether he is a
sinner or not, I don't know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I
see!" 26 Then they asked
him, "What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?" 27 He answered, "I have told you
already and you did not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you want
to become his disciples, too?" Their parameters of understanding were set. Sin was involved, someone was guilty, because
otherwise it would not fit within their world view. The man born blind simply tells his
story. In a world of skeptics and power,
can we do any better? In the end, aren’t
we all just called to tell our story and how it interacts with the story of
God? It is through stories that our eyes
are open and we begin to see the presence of God in the world round us as well
as in our lives. It is through people
telling their God stories that we are given the strength to give voice to our God
story as well. It is through these
stories that our world and the world around us can begin to see, can be cured
from their blindness. Tell your God
story and let the healing begin.
