fragrance
Thursday March
21st, John 12: 3 Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she
poured it on Jesus' feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was
filled with the fragrance of the perfume. One of the visions I get
from this text is the whole house being filled with Mary’s adoration and
worship. What a wonderful description of
what worship should be. Let the whole
house of God be filled with the fragrance of your worship. Let your whole life
before you be filled with the fragrance of your worship. I am not talking about
a little incense here, which too often results in forcing the allergy prone to
flee worship and not come back, but rather let there be such love and adoration
that the very atmosphere and the lives that live therein are charged and changed. Let the very breath of God fill your lungs
and tickle your senses and your soul, then share that experience, that
fragrance of life with others. When you leave that place, go out, and serve
with the fragrance of worship still in your heart and spread it to the world
around you.
