Prayer of the day for Narrative Lectionary, Exodus 32, story of the Golden Calf:

Dear Lord, You have called us to live as the children of God in this world, and yet again and again we are tempted to fall back into our old ways of being in control.  Give us the faith this day to trust in you and in your loving grace.  We ask this in the name of your son our savior, Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
