Wednesday
May 30th, Romans 8: 26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not
know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with
groans that words cannot express. One of the
deepest, most honest prayers I witnessed was when a friend of mine lost his mother
suddenly and let out long and loud the F..bomb, with fists clinched and face
turned heavenward. I do not promote
swearing as a part of prayer, but sometimes, in the intensity of the moment,
words just seem unimportant. God knows,
God understands, God hears and God loves. Don’t worry about what to say in
prayer, just say it from the heart, like on Pentecost, God will hear it in
God’s own language. With most of our
prayers, we just get the surface stuff, deep down honesty, no matter the words
used, are always the better prayer… they help change us. Isn’t that what prayer is all about anyway,
changing us? Use honest prayer today and see if your heart is not brought
closer to God…. And God is not the one moving.
