The gifts of God

1st Corinthians 12:4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit.
 There is a quote that is often attributed to Saint Francis, "Preach the Gospel everyday, if necessary use words". Too often Christians limit the ways that they can spread the Good News. There is this belief that unless you are preaching, or writing books, or in some cases speaking in tongues, than you are not really using a "spiritual gift". That is hogwash, there are so many gifts, and so many opportunities everyday to change lives and share the message of God's love. Some of you are teachers, and you mold young lives. Some of you are accountants and your work allows business to stay open and pay their employees. Some of you are servers and you provide joy and a meal to complete strangers. Some of you are parents and you raise children who will change the world. All gifts, all skills that we possess are works of the Spirit, if they are done for the benefit of our neighbor. Every moment in our lives is a moment where we can use the gifts we have to help those in need, even if it is something as simple as a smile to a stranger. God has given you the gifts of the Spirit, use them.
