Opening Thanksgiving Litany based on Psalm 65
Pastor: Praise awaits you O Lord our God for to you our vows will be fulfilled. To You O Lord who answers prayers, to You all people will come.
Congregation: When we were overwhelmed by our sinful ways and lives without meaning, you offered forgiveness and purpose.
Pastor: Blessed are those the Lord has chosen to be the people of God. As we live our lives near to your calling we find our lives filled with good things from your holy realm.
Congregation: In our times of need you answer our prayers with awesome righteous deeds.
Pastor: You O Lord are the hope of all the ends of the earth, of all lands near, and all lands far off. You O Lord are the one who formed the seas and the mountains of the earth, calming the chaos of the roaring waves as well as the turmoil of the nations.
Congregation: The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders; where morning dawns, where evening fades, you call forth songs of joy.
Pastor: You care for the land you created for us. You water and enrich it abundantly.
Congregation: We will care for this creation you have given us sharing the abundance of its harvest. For you O Lord drench its furrows and level its ridges; you soften this gift of creation with showers and bless its crops for all people.
Pastor: You Crown the harvest time with your bounty, the carts overflow with abundance.
Congregation: The grasslands of the wilderness overflow; the hills are clothed with gladness. The meadows are covered with flocks and the valleys are mantled with grain; surely we will join with all creation and shout for joy and sing.
