The kingdom if filled with good and bad

Friday October 17th, Matthew 22: 8 "Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. 9 Go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.' 10 So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, both good and bad, and the wedding hall was filled with guests. This is the third story about the kingdom, the two sons, the tenants in the vineyard and now the wedding banquet. Each deals with the kingdom for insiders and outsiders. The insiders have become too complacent. Worship is not about God but about them. Sometimes we have the same problem in our congregations. Is it the church? The people? The culture? In this parable, the king invites the good and the bad. The kingdom if filled with good and bad. Whether the story is about the mustard seed, the net with fish, yeast and bread, time after time Matthew insists that the kingdom stories are filled with good and bad. The only ones left out are those who think they are too good to be in the same room with the bad. Welcome to heaven.
