economic justice fills the land

Monday September 5th, Ezekiel 33: 10 "Son of man, speak to the people of Israel. Tell them, 'You are saying, "Our sins and the wrong things we have done weigh us down. We are wasting away because we have sinned so much. So how can we live?" ' 11 "Tell them, 'When sinful people die, it does not give me any joy. But when they turn away from their sins and live, that makes me very happy. And that is just as sure as I am alive,' announces the Lord and King. 'So turn away from your sins! Change your evil ways! Why should you die, people of Israel?' In the current climate where likes of Michelle and Pat and Perry seem to claim intimate relationship with the almighty and see natural disasters as warnings from God, they see the solution to those warnings as the antithesis of community building. They tend to see the solution to be the very type of society Ezekiel was sent to warn against. When you are doing the will and work of God, community is built and economic justice fills the land. When you are doing the will and work of self, community is destroyed and money flows up out of the hands of those who need it most and into the hands of those who need it least.
