if only

Friday November 19th, Luke 21: 7 “Teacher,” they asked, “when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are about to take place?” 8 He replied: “Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not follow them. 9 When you hear of wars and uprisings, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away.” If we only had a sign, if we only knew the plan, then we could prepare at the last minute. Of course if I had only known I would have invested in Apple Computer in the early 80’s. The only way to prepare is to live a life of readiness. Now is not a time to stand on a street corner and hold up a sign saying the end is near. As church attendance continues to decline while we are surrounded by a population, the majority of which say they believe in God and pray, now is the time to find out what an enhanced spiritual journey would look like, and it may not be like church at all. Instead of singing Now the day is over perhaps it is time to break into The times they are a changing.
