The ELCA fast facts for 11.2.09 tells the story, “Child poverty is more widespread in the United States than in any other industrialized country; at the same time, the U.S. government spends less than any industrialized country to pull its children out of poverty.” In order for some to have a lot, others must have a little. Jesus was concerned for the least, lost and lonely. It is the church’s call to do the same.
