Back to basics. When Jesus was asked which was the greatest commandment he stated that we are to love the Lord with all our heart soul and mind and to love our neighbor as ourselves. All of the gospel flows from this. All of the big hot button issues in religion have more to do with what some people would like to see as rules and perhaps even the quest for power, than with the commands of God. If it does not fit under loving God and loving others, it is just adiaphora.
