Wednesday September 17^th, Romans 14:  10 Why do you pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God; 11 for it is written, "As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God." 12 So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.  We seldom see the connection between the passing of judgment and the statement that every knee shall bow to God and every tongue confess to God and everyone giving an account before God.  We confess in the Lord’s prayer our need not only for forgiveness, but also our need to forgive.  Are they just words or do we mean it?  Sometime new wording helps us to see what we are saying.  Try this version: God of Heaven, Holy is your name.  Let your Kingdom come and your will be done here on earth as it is in Heaven.  Give us what we need for today and forgive our sins as we go forth and forgive the sins of others.  Help us avoid temptation and keep us out of the clutches of evil.  For the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory belong to you alone, and to you forever.  Amen!!   Forgive us dear Lord for all the killing done in your name under the dark cover of revenge for September 11^th.  Forgive us our sins as we move forward forgiving the sins of others.
